Dolly Kei/Antique Doll

November 6th, 2010

What I wore today:

Went vintage thrifting today in wonderful (and rainy) Newtown. I shall be altering my finds after the exams. I shall attempt to change them from drab to fab dollwork :)

I have fallen in love with another beautiful fashion from Japan. And I am absolutely spellbound.

That looks crazy… I love it too! All those patterns and draping fabrics look fantastic. I wish people where I live were more open minded in fashion though.

Ohhh so jealous! I can only afford to go to Japan once every… 2 years maybe hahaha! I'd love to go back though since I missed out on a few temples, like Fushimi Inari.

I think last time I was there I wandered into either Grimoire or The Virgin Mary without even knowing it (it was just off Harajuku-doori). It was close to this other vintage shop that sold cheaper stuff, I bought a nifty jacket for Y700, some nerd glasses for ~Y200, and cute gloves for Y500 *__*

Oh and I love Newtown. I wish I live there :(

Thanks doll! <3 I do think mori girl is very hard to pull off since it doesn't have much of a sillhouette so it's quite easy to just look a bit… off. I find it easier to deconstruct a dolly kei outfit and, to be honest, I find it prettier too :D

I know! It's the whole texture and warmth in Dolly Kei that pulled me in :) I think it's a very beautiful fashion.

I wish people in my area are a more open minded too :(

That'd be the Virgin Mary…Grimoire is like 6 floors up and I think you'd remember going all that way! There really are some great little places round there..Tarock, Cabaret etc…

Purrdy! As per usual! I couldn't pull off this look- i'd end up just looking like a boho chick. You, predictably, manage to look cute AGAIN. I envy you!!!!
I saw this pic on yr FB, but thought it was about time i came and said hi over here in bloggyland :) I don't really do bloggyland anymore…i just don't have it in me. I'm thinking of MAYYYYYBE staring a COMPLETELY anonymous one with random art and dreams and no clues whatsoever as to who i am. But i probably won't be bothered, hehe.
Hope life is beautiful, lovely one!♥
