I have one more video from the Aroma Festival. This one’s a beautiful French jazz number provided in the Continent section of the festival. Performed by Yuki Kumagai (Keys), Annique Azure (Voice, Flute), John Mackie (Double Bass), and Marty Mooney (Clarinet, Percussion).
Enjoy!
Ah, mon ami. French is such a beautiful language!

Before we went to the Aroma Festival, we obviously had to fill our bellies first (don’t try to drink coffee with an empty stomach…). So, going with the theme, we went to Glebe to grab a quick brunch.

I remembered going to a cafe with my sisters there and really loving the atmosphere, and so I took my friend to Mores Cafe and Grill.

Service was top notch. The waiter greeted us immediately upon entering. The decorations were very shabby chic, which was the ambiance that we wanted. Mismatched paintings, warm wooden furniture, and that mirror. I want that mirror.

Since my friend was hell bent in only drinking coffee at the festival, but still wanted a quick fix, she ordered an Earl Grey. Meanwhile, siince we’ll be going to Aroma anyway where I can drink as much tea and coffee as I want, I ordered an orange juice. We were a little disappointed that the tea was of the generic teabag variety instead of loose leaf (and if you’re still drinking from a bag I really do highly recommend graduating to loose leaf where the flavours are simply more decadent), but at $3.50 I guess we got what we paid for.

Our food arrived. My Big Breakfast wasn’t very large, as you can see. The sausage didn’t taste nice. My short strip of bacon was rubbery. Half a triangle of hashbrown. Six mushrooms. The only good things were the eggs. Scant offerings for something advertised as big.

My friend, meanwhile, ordered Eggs Benedict. She said it would have been nice, except the eggs were fried, not poached, which is what Eggs Bennys are supposed to be. Her bacon was rubbery as well.
We may sound like two old grumpy menopausal women complaining about the food, but honestly it was such a disappointment. I don’t remember it being like that at all the last time I went there, and I was slightly embarrassed as I was telling my friend how much I loved that cafe the last time I went there.
Oh well, I guess it’s a good thing there was AromaFest.

If ever in Glebe, go nowhere else except Badde Manors! Yes, they’re vegetarian but the ambience and food are to die for!

Trisha: Yeah but it was really full, we would have waited for a table for ages.
There’s another cafe that I’ve never noticed before, just across from Badde Manors. It’s really quaint, but it was pretty much full as well. We should go there one time.
