Yesterday I did a dolly kei photoshoot with the gorgeous Julija. So much fun was had by all
And the decorating we did! I wish I can show you what it looked like. It took over 2 hours to set everything up, and let me tell you it was lavish and everything we wanted a dolly kei set to look like. I’m so proud of us!
I’ll upload some photos as they come. Meanwhile, this is what I looked like straight after the shoot in a simple otome outfit

Come, dear reader. Sit and have tea with me. And I shall tell you a story.
There was once a girl who walked down a street warmed by centuries of sunshine. She chanced upon a small bakery so small and sweet and delightful, she stopped and drank in the sight of warm breads, glazed pastries, and frosted cupcakes all piled high behind a large window.
She went inside and saw a lady placing a tray of macarons behind the counter. Strawberry. Vanilla. Pistachio. Chocolate. Flavours of every kind. Her mouth watered.
“These macarons are special,” said the lady. “So special that the Queen of England herself wrote a commission to all who ate it, to share a macaron to most special friends so that its wondrous taste may be enjoyed by many.”
So eat, dear reader! The tea is ready. Would you like some milk and sugar?

Lately I’ve been going around Canberra and Sydney looking op shops and recycle shops to fit my room. My tiny room used to look atrocious (ie: messy and unco), but ever since reading a few interior design books and magazines, especially the ones centering around French country and romantic styles, I’ve been really inspired to put my bedroom in order.
Thrifting, ahh there’s a beautiful word. Everything in the photo above is thrifted: From the mannequin ($20), to the bedside drawers ($10). From the vintage china ($10 and less) to the books (50c each I would say, since I got them from the USYD book fair). And then, there’s also my budding love of Dolly Kei, hence styling my mannequin as such: all of which were also thrifted.
A few other notable finds from my Sydney and Canberra haunts…
Leather bag:
Zimmerman (left) and Cooper St (right) dresses:
Tokito (Left)
And the 2 books that initially inspired it all: "Romantic Style" (left) and "Collage with Masking Tape" (right), as well as the
Grimoir blog entries.
Outfit snap time! Taken in my sister’s room when I visited her in Canberra. Top thrifted from Melbourne, skirt from Metamorphose, bag from Sportsgirl, belt from Newtown markets.
Cheerio!
